The Tumaini Afrika travellers met with the Compass Foundation board this morning to reconnect with our friends and to discuss the status of construction on the new school and the next steps of construction, among other things. We then visited the site. It was exciting to see that walls were up and classrooms were taking shape!
Staff, both new and old, greeted us back at the current Compass school and plans were made for our upcoming visits to the school. We also planned a shopping day with Brian, the head teacher, to purchase much needed teaching material and supplies for the upcoming school year.
January 21
The highlight of today was shopping with Brian! He was like a kid in a candy store! (We had to explain that expression to him). With the help of Faraj and the textbook staff, four shopping carts full of teaching material and supplies were boxed and delivered to Compass school. We cannot thank our supporters enough for making this possible!! What a gift for these children and their teachers!
For those who have been wondering if Jeannine got her missing piece of luggage… thank you Faraj!!!
You guys are the epitome of joy in serving. Watching you jump in to work is like being in Disneyland.
